Lying in the rather dry and arid region of Marathwada, Hingoli District is often prone to dry weather and acute droughts that puts entire communities into distress besides forcing many farmers to commit suicide. To increase their productivity, farmers take loans and invest on their land and in production but an increasing frequency of droughts leads them to a situation where they cannot repay debts and finally end up committing suicide. Hence we started conducting awareness programmes, visiting one village in a month where we gather the farmers and make them aware of the govt schemes & initiatives and educate them to reduce the expenditure of social customs and practices like marriages and festivals. We also encourage them to develop alternative sources of income like goat farming, dairy products, millets packing for their livelihood. We have formed a farmers group and made them club their small piece of lands into one large chunk which helps them to cultivate multiple crops. Contribute generously to the efforts of our organization to motivate our farmers. Cost per programme Honorarium of resource person – Rs. 1,000 Refreshments – Rs. 1,000 Speakers & mike – Rs. 1,000 Banners & advertisement – Rs. 1,000 Seating arrangements – Rs. 1,000 Total Cost – Rs. 5000 per day per village (of 100 to 200 people)
